Framework, a modular computer company, is launching the Framework Laptop 12, a 12-inch 2-in-1 touchscreen PC aimed at improving entry-level laptops. However, new US tariffs have complicated pricing, causing delays in US preorders and affecting sales of their cheaper models. The Laptop 12 is now available for preorder in the UK, Europe, and Canada, with US preorders starting soon. The starting price for the Laptop 12 in the US is Rp 9.17 juta ($549) , but this does not include storage, memory, ports, or an operating system. Prebuilt models with these features start at higher prices, making them more expensive than some other entry-level laptops. Despite the higher cost, Framework is known for its repairability and upgradability, which could save money in the long run. The Laptop 12 features a 2-in-1 backflipping touchscreen and starts with a six-core 13th Gen Intel Core i3-1315U, with an option to upgrade to a 10-core i5-1334U. The first batches of DIY and prebuilt models are expected to ship in June and July, respectively. While the prebuilt model will initially be available only in black, the DIY version offers more color options.
