Framework, a modular computer company, has introduced the Framework Laptop 12, a 12-inch 2-in-1 touchscreen PC aimed at fixing issues with entry-level laptops. However, new US tariffs have made it difficult to maintain entry-level pricing, causing delays in US preorders and pauses in sales of their cheaper models. The Framework Laptop 12 starts at Rp 9.17 juta ($549) in the US, but this price does not include storage, memory, ports, or an operating system. The prebuilt model, which includes these components, starts at Rp 13.34 juta ($799) . Despite the higher prices compared to typical entry-level laptops, Framework emphasizes the repairability and modularity of their products. The Laptop 12 features a six-core 13th Gen Intel Core i3-1315U from 2023, with an option to upgrade to a 10-core i5-1334U. The DIY and prebuilt models are expected to ship in June and July, respectively. Framework is also planning to release a color-matched stylus with a removable battery soon.
